Sweet

What happened is in plain text.

What was in my mind is italicized.

I went jogging 3 months ago on Los Feliz just to relieve my mind. I looked through my ipod looking for a good song to get hyped up with and all of a sudden some random guy started jogging next to me. Crap! Did you just come out of the bushes?! We ran side by side for about 10 long blocks. Shit, this is a long jog… long jog of heaven, ahhhh! During that time, he introduced himself and all that good stuff. I was actually going to turn right at the 7th block but, I was just so interested in him. It’s not everyday a stranger jogs and talks to you. His personality really didn’t fit his frame or, at least, it didn’t fit what society has presented me so far. You’re amazing. He attends a private school, he plays basketball and football, he has an older brother that attends UCLA, and he is pursuing to become either a doctor or an engineer. He’s a shiny penny, a novel. When we had to part ways he stopped me and we exchanged numbers. Uhh, what is it for kid?! He said we should jog together again. Is that a date?! He went towards the LA river, I went towards the upper roads of Griffith Park.

*He called me a while ago, checking how I’ve been. What a sweet guy. It made my day.

2012

I do not feel like creating new year’s resolutions when the year hasn’t even began. Holding goal resolutions is a whole lot different than setting them. I don’t expect much just because there is a different digit written at the end of the date; a new year is not a reset button. I will still have the same insecurities, the same issues, the same friends, the same family, just different digits to track written entries or the placement of the Earth in the solar system. I don’t expect change, I truly don’t. Change happens within an accumulation time not over night when the clock strikes 12:00. I find it somewhat amusing, making goals just because of a new year, why not start today? Why is their so much certainty fabricated within the beginning of a year when everyday is a different day?

Good night and happy new year.

I'll see you again, right?
